FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, NEITHER ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS, SAITH THE LORD.
There it is! Right there in Isaiah 55:8 & 9….As clear as can be! Quite succinctly put, or, as the old saying goes, “in a nutshell”.….. that God is waaay different from us! His thoughts are different. His ways are different. According to the writer in Romans 11:33….Who can know him? O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements, and his ways past finding out!
FOR AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS, AND MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS.
John 4:24 … Jesus declares to us “God is a Spirit”: And yet … He has revealed both his thoughts and his ways to us! He wants us to know him! And so he sent “The Word”, in the form of his Son for just such a purpose. To reveal himself! To us! A proclamation and a salute to us! Salutations to us and Adulations to our God! Yay! Rejoice, be of good cheer all ye peoples of the earth! Hallelujah to The Most High! The highest praises to our God! The longings of the human soul can finally be filled!
God has revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time;
the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father,
he hath declared him.
A true revealing. Not just a superficial knowing about him (theology), but an ability to really, really “know him” as he truly is (not our preconceived notions about him). Knowing God is the only thing that can truly satisfy the longings of the human heart.
And there are many witnesses! I am such a one
It actually, literally, feels soooo good to be home! Home with God. Rejoined to him through Jesus, the Christ, the son of the living God (Matthew 16:16 ). There is nothing on earth that can compare to the prodigal child finding it’s way home. Thank you Jesus for making that way and being that way. I love you. Bless your holy name.
